Default Defending the SB against LAG....

tourney donk here, looking for some advice... I'm trying to learn cash games but at -2.5 buyins tonite, i obviously need some work.

villain is 39.6 VPIP over 275 and is extremely active.

i'd much ratehr 3-bet here vs AOA. he generally gives them respect and if you're relatively unknown to him he's not going to get too cute.

given that, i would still fold PF. you dont need to defend your blinds like a tournament; playing ATo versus a tough LAG is probably going to be a losing proposition, especially if you are a little green with deep stacks.

As played, I'd fold, I guess. AOA def does this [censored] to me when I look a little weak and the pot is big but generally for this dude big bets=big hand.

I say you're beat, but only because I know this player fairly well. He usually slows down when he doesn't have much a hand, so while he's LAG pre, I think he plays closer to the vest post.

I don't mind calling with AT if you think you can make enough decent plays post-flop - but just on the hand value alone it can be awkward to say the least from the blinds.

Fold preflop. If it was suited a call might have been ok.

If you really want to play the hand, reraise, but its better to do with other holdings than ATo.

I would like folding or 3 betting better as opposed to calling. Folding is the best option though.
