Steve Irwin reported dead

What a bummer. I always like this guy and his shows. Although you knew it had to happen sooner or later.

You see these guys do so many shows and never really hear of someone actually dying from it - there goes that.

I enjoyed him as well.

wow. i didnt think stingrays were too much of a threat. especially considering what he's faced in his tv shows. seems like theyre pretty tame to humans. unless he was doing one of his stunts where he was f-ing w/ the animal.

got this from wiki:

Dasyatids do not attack aggressively, or even actively defend themselves. When threatened their primary reaction is to swim away. However, when they are attacked by predators or stepped on, the barbed stinger in their tail is mechanically whipped up, usually into the offending foot; it is also possible, although less likely, to be stung "accidentally" by brushing against the stinger.
