burning money with 33.
3/6 5 handed. Villan is 31/20/1.9 over 300hands
preflop: 2folds, i raise 33 on button, bb calls. flop: 66K two [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. He leads, i raise, he calls. turn: 8 (putting 2 spades on the board). He leads and i fold. should i just fold on the flop, call down? I had a brutal session yesterday and feel like i am just being run over. |

Re: burning money with 33.
I kind of like it. A good LAG is going to be mixing up donking with a K, a 6, a draw, and sometimes air so raising the flop, betting a non-club turn (sometimes checking behind), and checking behind the river is often a solid play. Eitherway, definately not burning money.

Re: burning money with 33.
mostly because i am an idiot.
i thought that he could be donking a fd so i guess that was my reasoning at the time but after he leads the turn i am clearly screwed. |

Re: burning money with 33.
This might be an okay spot to call the flop and raise a non-club turn, with that being the last money you put in.

Re: burning money with 33.
if he has a flush draw, what does the raise accomplish?
Here's an important concept, if he has a flush draw, he is winning right now. He has 16 outs to go ahead on the turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6 overs, and a K |

Re: burning money with 33.
I just call down from the flop when he leads. I'll fold if the board double pairs, counterfeiting me.
If he checks any street, I probably check behind. I think it's a pretty thin value bet, and getting c/r'd on any street would suck. This may be weak, I don't know. But against a LAG, I want to see showdown, and I want to do it as cheap as possible. |

mostly because i am an idiot. i thought that he could be donking a fd so i guess that was my reasoning at the time but after he leads the turn i am clearly screwed. [/ QUOTE ] If you thought this guy had a flush draw, your best play would be to call the flop and fold a club turn and raise any non-club turn, this assumes this guy wont bluff the river if you call the flop and turn on this board. If this guy is stupid enough to bluff every street even though your calldown on this board says your showing down every time, then I wouldnt raise the turn, I would just call down, assuming no club hits. These ideas pertain to when you think this guy is on a FD, how to play this hand depends more on what this guy's total range is when he donks that flop. For example, If you somehow knew that this guy would only donk here with Kx,6x or a FD, the correct play would be to fold the flop. |
