live simulcast running all day long nationwide, they offer a phone betting service themselves, but i assume i would get a better deal online, where would you recommend? (and if the same balance can be used at a poker room so much the better)

Youbet.com if you plan on doing alot of betting. You have to pay for their service if you don't make a minimum amount of wagers.
I used brisbet. It's free, and the Past Performances are free if you wager on that same track, but the platform sucks and is lacking in many ways. |
