77 raised on the flop
Villian just sat down the previous hand where he posted UTG and then folded the flop:

Re: 77 raised on the flop
Similar to my donk troubles. Since both nines and K beats I would fold. Also, u are either slightly ahead (example QT has 13 outs!) or way behind.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
I fold here as well . . . The fact that he posted UTG is usually a sign that the player is a donk but there is that small chance he posted by mistake. I dont really like going any further here after being check/raised on the flop with no read.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
This is about an easy as a fold gets. This is also why I get apprehensive about raising mid PPs preflop even here--I'd have been pretty happy with checking behind.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
I think you can fold this, since bluff check-raising is a very dangerous action here, if you have hit your hand.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
Where is your limit for raising pp from mid position and beyond preflop? I do think that I sometimes push it too far for 0.5/1 short handed and I wonder if a tighter approach would be more profitable until I move up in limit. I am raising about 15% preflop now.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
My 6-max pfr is 15% as well, and that's an absolute rock-bottom minimum of what's reasonable. 77 is a perfectly standard value- and isolation-raise here.
This sort of hand does illustrate why you want tight players on your left. You really don't want coldcallers in this situation. On this particular hand it wasn't that big a deal since you have an easy fold anyway, but in other cases your postflop action may not be so clear cut, and position helps a lot. |

Re: 77 raised on the flop
raising PF is good, betting the flop is a must, folding is pretty easy. If he has QJ/JT then good for him and he still ahs plenty of outs.

Re: 77 raised on the flop
Fold. Judging by the UTG post he doesn't seem smart enough. You can atleast credit him with a 9 and I doubt he's smart enough to check-raise as a semibluff.
But at the same time he might be dumb enough to check raise on a straight draw with a paired board. A fold either way. |
