Limping AA - from the 2+2 table
There was a pretty spiritted debate on limp re-raising at the 2+2 table. I think this hand started it all (although for the recoed I didn't LRR)
Poker Stars Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $0.02/$0.04 9 players Converter Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 folds, Hero calls, 3 folds, 3 folds, BB raises, Hero calls. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2.5SB, 2 players) BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, BB calls. Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5.25BB, 2 players) BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls. River: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9.25BB, 2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. Results: Final pot: 11.25BB Here was my thinking... As usual this was a tight table. It was folded to me in MP3; I was worried I'd get no callers at all (which actually happened when I got AA a second time later in the game) When it came back to me I had one caller who I knew was a super aggressive player who was likely to bet into me almost indefinately if he had the lead going into the flop. |

Re: Limping AA - from the 2+2 table
if you have 2p2ers behind you, then your opening range from MP is going to be wider than usual. You may just get 3-bet, in which case, if it is HU, I might just call the 3b.

[/ QUOTE ] He's going to say "a lot" because the villain is me and we've played like 7 hands against each other so he knows me like a brother. The correct answer is "just enough to make this profitable." It's razor thin, but it's a good bet, especially on that card. |

Re: Limping AA - from the 2+2 table
Meh. This is a situation that you will rarely run into in regular play. The standard answer is if the table is so tight they are folding to your raises raise more don't limp monsters. At a 2+2 table the open limp should have set off some alarms.

What do you do if BB check/raises the river?

Re: Limping AA - from the 2+2 table
So, why didn't you 3-bet preflop when given the opportunity? Because you would get less action postflop?
