party going REALLY slow lately. is this normal?

i'll try to be succinct about this.
party is running (most of the time, but especially when i have lots of tables open) REALLY slow on my computer. i often get mouse delays for more than a few seconds; when i bring up the lobby, it sometimes stalls, bolcking the screen for upto ten seconds or more; and sometimes i sit there clicking the "raise" (or other) button, but nothing happens at all and then party folds my hand, which really pisses me off when it happens on the river with a solid hand.
does this happen to other people? anyone have any advice?

and, just to clarify-
-i uninstalled and reinstalled party.
-i compact my databases in PT regularly.
-i am using a Dell laptop (2.2GHz with plenty of free space).

it's doing that to me also, it's also been closing when getting moved to a new table when in tourneys... hopefully they fix it

Leaving party is the best thing that ever happened to my bankroll. I never realized how bad the 5/10 games there were until I left. The software needs to be totally redone too.

On a side note, why does the biggest company always have the crappiest stuff? Party, McDonalds, Microsoft, etc...

so where would you recommend going for better games (i am playing mostly 1/2 and 2/4 so far, dont know if that would change your answer)?
