Default A SB Resteal Gone Horribly Awry

200 or so players left in the $40K 100+9 on Party. Tyler Durden (the 2+2er, not the Fight Club character) has been seated at my table for the entire tournament so far (this isn't relevant).

I am table chipleader, and recently chose to show a bluff where I called a PF raise with 24s on the button, checked behind 2 players on a TTx flop, and raised the PFR's turn bet. Other than that, I've been showing down only solid hands.

Blinds
200/400

Important Stacks
Button: 6,580
KramerTM (SB): 13,579
BB: 11,532

PF Action (and I stress "Action")
Button open-min-raises to 800. I reraise in the SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] to 3200. BB flat-calls (). SB pushes all-in. I push trying to isolate with BB's dead money in the pot.

Should I quit poker forever? (read: thoughts at all decision points?)

Thanks.

I already think I know what my BIGGEST mistake was, but I want to hear other responses before I get all introspective.

I think that cold call by the BB would scare me.

I actually don't HATE anything except showing the 24 bluff. To me, since you play a LAG game, you want your bets/raises to have MORE respect, not less.

In the hand at, well, hand, you figure the button's range is wide. He could be minraising b/c he has a monster, he could be desperate to add chips without risking his dinky stack.

There's obv nothing wrong with folding the Q9d here, but raising to 3200 says OK, button, you're playing for all your money, but leaves you the bailout if BB jams.

BB cold calling is troublesome, then button jams, leaving you in a bad spot, since folding is bleh, calling is bleh. I think here, the jam is good to take your hand against only the button, with the BB's $$ as overlay. The problem is, you have minimized your FE with the 24 bluffshow.

In all, I wouldn't try this move so soon after showing the earlier hand, but in general, don't hate it as part of your overall strategy.

Sorry, I'm just laughing how sick you must have felt w/ the cold call. You'd rather have him push so u can fold OBV.

well BB's flat call makes me throw up, unless he's a total retard. but it's not too bad, i would consider just calling PF though, especially since you've recently shown down a bluff (which is begging to have someone make a move at you in a spot like this-- exactly what you don't want).

Sump'tin ain't right in the preflop action sequence.

Button acts. SB acts. BB acts. Then SB acts again?

IMHO, button's minraise makes this a bad spot for a resteal. So does BB's stack.

Well, certainly Kramer needs to explain why he's restealing this button's min-raise. I don't understand the point about BB's stack. Seems ideal to me.
