Default Internet Texas Hold \'em

I am still new to poker and I am about to purchase another book...I was told that ITH by Hilger was a good read. Can anyone give me some feedback from this book. I used the search option but I didnt find what I was looking for. Im fairly new to this site too. (Mainly just a lurker).

Thanks for any and all comments.

It's fine...nothing special and don't let the 'internet' in the title think it will help you a lot there. Get Millers Small Stakes Holdem book if you don't have that.

Yeah I have SSHE actually...Should I just stick to re-reading that instead of purchasing ITH? Would there be anything to gain from reading ITH that wouldnt be covered or discussed in SSHE?

I have both, and although Hilger's book is good, it won't give you any new insight into the game. I also don't like how the book is formatted. SSHE is better, IMO.

Internet Texas Hold'Em is a solid read, but like everyone else said, you won't gain much from it if you understand the concepts in Small Stakes.

I would suggest buying a copy of Theory of Poker, reading/studying it until you can grasp all of the concepts. I feel that once you can understand the knowledge in that book, all the other game specific concepts come just a little bit easier. So I would then suggest re-reading Small Stakes Hold'em and focusing on each chapter individually, until you understand it fully.

It will do wonders for your game.

I'm not even a Limit player, but I enjoyed the hand examples in ITH... that constitutes the majority of Hilger's book.

A lot of major bookstores are stocking it now, so you might be able to skim it in Barnes and Noble.

The hand examples are very good for a new player trying to grasp certain concepts. If you have any questions on any hand examples, the author will answer them on his website.
