Default NL50: Line on river facing possible flush?

Villain is relatively new, he's playing about a third of the time and reloads whenever he drops below $45, which has already happened a few times in two orbits.

Party Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
10 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
Hero: $28.09
UTG+1: $26.95
UTG+2: $38.46
MP1: $111.10
MP2: $37.99
MP3: $45.42
CO: $48.95
Button: $66.81
SB: $74.22
BB: $145.92

Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero calls, 4 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($2.25, 4 players)
BB checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $1</font>, MP3 calls, 2 folds.

Standard pot-building, perhaps I should've led for slightly more.

Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.25, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $2</font>, <font color="#cc0000">MP3 raises to $4</font>, Hero calls.

My lead was a half-assed attempt at pot control and may have evidenced some weakness. The mini-raise is somewhat scary, but I clearly have enough outs and implied odds to call.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12.25, 2 players)
Hero?

Was undecided about whether to lead or check/call. If it's the latter, how large of a bet do I call?

Bet more on the flop.

Check the river and reevaluate.

And so should you. Reload!

Preflop I raise to $2, then ~pot the flop and with your stack probably push the turn.

As played you can block river for ~5 or check/call a reasonable bet (I call up to a pot bet).

I raise with 88 from MP or later but UTG? Really?

Anyway, I checked and called a $5 river bet. Villain showed T8 and MHIG.
