Quick question regarding downloading music from internet
Hey all,
I would like to subscribe to some legal site which allow sharing music files. I am interested in almost any kind of music so I would like to know which site has the best service (Napster ? iTunes ? something else ? ). Could you give your opinions about the sites you use ? Thanks for your help. |

Re: Quick question regarding downloading music from internet
I have used both Napster and Yahoo! Music, and I like Napster quite a bit better. Yahoo uses this oddball client that you have to restart every half-hour or so, and so I avoid that. Also, songs downloaded from Yahoo! are not compatible with iPods.
I've never used iTunes, though. All of these sites have roughly the same library (~1-2 million songs) and about the same price ($.99 per song, and usually $9.99 per album). Have fun out there. |

Re: Quick question regarding downloading music from internet
I really like emusic.com, since they're pretty much the cheapest for songs you actually get to own, and they give you bona fide DRM-free MP3's. You don't get to choose your bit rate, but you get >128kbps variable bit rate tracks. They have very little main stream music, but if you're into indie rock, this is your site. I primarily use it for getting jazz and blues, for which their selection is also pretty good.
