Default Very Odd Preflop Situation I Just Found Myself In

So I'm on the button and the CO posts blind + dead. Its folded around to the CO and he folds too (this is not a typo, the poster folded for no bet). What hands should I be stealing with here. Should I open limp anything? SB is Bappapp (a bad lag) and BB is some decent tag who defends only 40% in my somewhat small sample on him, if that matters much.

I would raise anything reasonable. Open limping on the button seems horid; why allow the blinds in for free?

I think I would raise any 2 cards above a 7, any ace, any K, any suited, and any pair.

Because the BB probably realizes that getting 5:1 he can call nearly anything and the sb is a goofy lag. So my chance of winning it preflop is probably <20%.

This was my first reaction too, and in fact I raised 83s. But in retrospect I think openlimping might be better. How often are we actually winning it preflop here? Do we gain any advantage in hands that do go to the flop by having raised pre?

I don't really expect to win it preflop, but I feel like just getting the small blind to fold here is a huge win.

Bappap is not neccesarily folding here... I don't have my stats w/ me, but his fold sb to steal is something like 55% if I remember correctly over a large sample size

I would lower my standards just slightly, and open limping is no good.
