How does the WSOP rebuy work?
I gather it is unlimited rebuy no addon. Can you initial rebuy and double rebuy if you bust? Is the rebuy allowed when you get to your initial stack level or lower?

Re: How does the WSOP rebuy work?
in the first rebuy event players started with $1k in chips and any time they had $1k or below they could rebuy. This meant you could rebuy immediately and if you went to the felt could double rebuy. At the conclusion of the rebuy period you could take a single or double add-on regardles sof stack size. So if uyou lost everyting on the last hand of the rebuy period you could double rebuy and double add-on for a total of $4k

So you weren't getting a discount. In low buyin live tournaments, the addon is usually twice the buyin/rebuy and it is 1.33 x on Stars and 1.67x on Paradise. |

Re: How does the WSOP rebuy work?
I've never played a live rebuy anywhere. Is this standard? It sounds as if somehow you pick up extra chips ahead of time...what keeps you from using them all at once?
From Cardplayer... "John Juanda was spotted with $11,000 in tournament re-buy chips ready to go if needed." "Phil Gordon said to an opponent at his table, 'How well are you prepared to go? You only have $5,000 for the re-buys.'" "Negreanu has brought $30,000 in re-buy chips with him to today's tournament." |

Re: How does the WSOP rebuy work?
The way it works is, there are tournament chips, which are used to actually play in the tournaments, and then there are tournament buy in chips. You exchange them evenly and you can only get more tournament chips when you have $1k or below.

Re: How does the WSOP rebuy work?
So they have the spare tournament chips at the table?
I guess you can then cash your rebuy chips back in for a refund if you don't use them, right? Is this standard at any casino or special to the WSOP? Thanks! |
