Am i just stupid when it comes to rakeback ?
Please help me fully understand rakeback !!!
I have been playing online for 3 years or so now and never really worried about paying rake, until I got pokertracker in February. Now I appreciate what rack I pay and I’m not so keen on it. My main account is with Pokerstars. Since February I have won $900 in cash games and $2200 in tourneys but have paid out $2300 in rake and $600 on tourney fees. My second account is with Party, which opened in March. Up about $600 here and have paid $500 race. Getting fed up with paying as much rake as I was winning I recently opened an account with Interpoker through “Thisisthenuts” with a promise of 32% or so rakeback. Haven’t player there enough yet to see any real benefit. I did read on a different post here today that if you are not getting al least 50% rakeback you must have you head in the sand. So am I doing all I can by joining a poker via an affiliate such as “thisisthenuts” or can I get even more money back ? Also is there a way to get rakeback from the sites where I already accounts ? Many thanks |

Re: Am i just stupid when it comes to rakeback ?
That sounds like a pretty good deal on Interpoker to me. Also remember that they don't deduct the bonus from your rakeback on Interpoker like some other sites do. The person who told you anything less than 50% was a rip is well, wrong. Of course there is a site that gives you 100% rakeback, theres about a zillion threads on it already.

this is the nuts is an awesome affiliate and 32% is good. I dn't know of too many rooms that do 50% or more. the ones that do are not worth playing because of game selection/bad software/bad cs etc...
I would say wpex is the exception to that though. as they are 100% RB |

32% at interpoker is good if you like the room.
50%+ is definately possible at Prima Poker. Our clients have been very happy with the 6 max and shorthanded games at Prima, additionally they have enough games so that you can multitable (unlike WPEX). I wouldn't recommend playing fullring there above 1/2. |

Don't feel too bad. I tried to explain to a recreational player what RB is and I may as well have been talking to a wall. "What do you mean someone's going to pay me a % of my rake??"

Does the money come from the affiliate? How is the pokerroom losing any money from rakeback? What percentage of the rake does the affiliate get?

[/ QUOTE ] Rakeback does come from the affiliate, but sometimes one of the sites will pay players directly. The pokerrooms make a business decision on whether to allow rakeback based on a lot of factors. What the affiliate get depends quite a bit on the site and how much volume he brings in - anywhere from 20-40% or for a few networks like Prima sometimes a lot more. |
