problems with samsung 204b and new HP computer

hi all

i just purchased new HP a1540n and samsung 204b monitor. after many hours with HP support and exchanging the HP for a new one i still have problrms with restarts. the HP restarts fine with a different monitor.

has anyone heard of this kind of problem?? advice??
