Default Deceptive play

Villain is unknown.

I was 90% sure he had a weak ace, by the time he took to call the flop and then check the turn.

You think my play had the best expectation?

That board is nowhere near good enough for you to be checking the turn.

I would bet the turn outright especially because he checked it to you after taking a stab on the flop. If he flat calls and checks the river you can check behind. If he puts in a big c/r on the turn then I would stringly consider folding depending on how aggressive my opponent had been in similar situations before.

Whats so dangerous about it? Its rainbow and there isnt a lot of draws.

Plus, by checking the turn i gave him the chance to bluff the river if he was on an inside. What do ya think?

Because any A, Q, or T can significantly damage your hand, and most guys aren't calling that flop with a naked gutter.

BTW, a lot of cards also kill any action you might get on the river besides simply killing your hand. Worry less about inducing a bluff and more about extracting value from Aces and weaker Kings.
