Default taxes/kids/schools

This may be a bit politic-y but I hate those guys. I've had this debate with several people and almost all of them disagree with me.

Even if you don't have kids (or send them to private school) you still benefit from the existence of public education.

[/ QUOTE ]society benefits greatly, actually immensely, from a good public education system. Many of the costly social service programs we pay are paying for services for people with a poor education, or no education at all.

The overall intelligence and education of the country is well worth the taxes. Think about it - if people who sent their kids to private schools or didnt have kids didn't help pay for schools, there wouldn't be enough to pay for free schooling. Then we would have a bunch of uneducated teenagers running around with nothing to do and no future in life. What are they gonna do? Theyre gonna start committing crimes.

I think homeowners in good school districts do not mind some of their taxes going towards schools.
