Default $12t - A Couple 88 Hands

Hand 1: My main question on this hand is preflop. Is everyone else opening with 8s here with the awkward stacks?

Converter

Edit: Sorry, blinds didn't show up, it's 40/80.
Stack sizes:
UTG: t1495
UTG+1: t2080
MP1: t1390
MP2: t2050
Hero: t1350
CO: t765
Button: t1315
SB: t1640
BB: t1415

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP3 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
4 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to t200</font>, CO calls t200 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t320)</font>, Button folds, SB calls t160 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t520)</font>, BB folds.

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (t680, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets t320</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises all-in t1150</font>

----------------------------------------------------------
Hand 2: No reads on the dumb button minraiser as I didn't have PAHUD running tonight. I'd usually push pf if he was a tad bit shorter but it just didn't feel right at the time. Planned on CRAI on the flop but he didn't cooperate. Is leading better? Horrible turn and he gay bets it. Planned on calling another 200ish or smaller bet on river. Thoughts?

Hand 1, looks fine to me.

Hand 2, you call the turn, but then fold the river? If I call the turn, I call the river. i pot the flop, then probly fold turn.

cant call river just because you called the turn, this hand is a perfect example of that. most villains arent going to bluff twice here. anyways im betting flop in hand 2 since he probably wont fold ace high.

Hand 1 id raise a bit more, 250 at least to narrow the field to 1 guy, dream flops like that happen not too often. Flop is good.

Hand 2 i raise preflop, not calling it with better, but vulnerable hand oop.

1: These awkward stack situations are difficult for me. How many BBs would we need to limp or just fold this pf? With 350 less I'm pushing for sure but I don't like committing 1/6 the stack when it's likely I'll be folding after the flop. I see not getting heads up here, and folding to boards with cards over 8, alot.

2: I'm all about pushing this preflop, readless at the 12s the min-raiser who was folded to in LP should definitely be shoved over. Maybe even 44+ is good. If you're up against a solid, tight player (raising less than 15% and calling more than 5%) then just fold. But solid tight players don't usually minraise to steal... As played I'm betting the pot also.

Hand 1:
With 88 one from the cutoff, I open as well.

Hand 2:
I actually like a push PF. His minraise feels like a steal and his stack is small enough if that he calls and wins, you are not crippled. Having saidd that, I understand why you might hold off but.... you have to re-raise here. 88 is a very strong hand relative to the range of hands that he would be raising/stealing with from the button. I also dont like going for a check-raise on the flop. In general, I think people go for check raises too often. Unless you have a read that villian is very aggressive and always c-bets, I pot bet it.

Obviously the turn bet stinks, but like you said its hard not to call 100.

I also fold on the river.
