$3 Rebuy (LC)

I'm thinking about playing my first rebuy tournament one night this week, when I'm available. The lowest one I see on the two sites I play on, PokerStars and PartyPoker, seems to be the $3 rebuy on Stars, run nightly at 8:15 PM.

I know it varies with the aggressiveness of the player but how much money do you guys usually spend on this tournament with typical rebuys and add-ons?

I'm working with about a $1,000 bankroll because I had to cash out $1000 for a Spring Break trip.

I think the general rule is to expect to spend about 5-7x the buy in amount.

Usually spend 30-50.

So the consensus is to wait and build up my bankroll before I experiement with one of these? Anybody have any good articles about these tournies?

I should be pushing any suited connectors if theres 2-3 people all in in front of me with the rebuy period?

I have to play like a lunatic I guess.

$3 rebuy bankroll is about $1000 if you're not going to play like me or Twisted. It's also very fishy.

MY table was boring and tight, so figured i'd double rebuy push every hand till i hit 15k. It took a while. Had 37k after addon, and finished 26th to nearly break even. It was fun [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Is there a player type that generally does well in this or does it vary? To clarify is the crazy LAG push master during the rebuy period the type that dominates these tournaments?

I've final tabled it twice, both times i had 5k after addon. Cybrpunk FT'd it this week with 5k after addon too. If you can play poker well, you don't need a big stack to do well, i just prefer it. Personally i push anything semi decent, and if there is several people already allin, and i don't have a big stack, there are rarely any cards i would fold.

There is nothing wrong with rebuying and playing it like a freezeout with 3k starting stacks, and keeping an eye on who the maniacs are, and making sure you have a reasonably tight range generally, but against someone like me/gobbo, your calling range can be a lot looser, especially when we are pushing every hand.
