Foxwoods on $200?
Headed to the Foxwoods poker room next week, looking to stake about $200 for maybe 12 hours of play. Any recommendations for what limit I should play?
I consider myself better than the average tourist, so I don't plan on donking my money away in bad spots. I'm assuming $200 would be good for a night of 2/4, but should I go even higher and get more bang for my buck? Any opinions from you B&M guys would be appreciated. |

Re: Foxwoods on $200?
personally i'd just play two of the ultra-soft $80 sng's, but it seems like youre looking more like an extended amount of playing time rather than the most profitable route for the amount of money you have.

Re: Foxwoods on $200?
I'm looking to play the whole time I'm there, for a full overnight. Plus my limit ring game is my strongest suit currently. This is primarily a bankroll question, regarding how high of a limit I can play with $200 for the night.

Re: Foxwoods on $200?
You could get either in a 2/4 or 3/6 easily with that amount of stake.

Re: Foxwoods on $200?
If you just want to play all night, start out at 2/4 and see how it goes. You can move up to 4/8 though the tables there are hit or miss. I think I'm quitting limit at FW because the 1/2 NL game is such a joke.

play the $80 sng's.. and make the money, otherwise you might be in for a very short night at foxwoods with $200.

Re: Foxwoods on $200?
$200 might be enough at 4/8 if you play tight. The games are so loose that you can end up limping in late position with almost any two suited without -EV, so if you're playing "ideal" SSHE and keep missing, you can go through $200 at 4/8 really quickly. The last time I sat in that game I went through about $360 in an hour and a half pumping pots with draws that didn't come in, and I had two "set over set" confrontations which I was on the wrong side of.
If you play considerably tighter, your variance will go down and you might be able to make it last at 4/8. If I were you, I would just move down to 2/4 and then move up if things go your way and you've still got the $200 or more after a few hours. The games are ridiculous. |
