Yeah I don't know what everyone's problem is with the announcers. The guys in the studio seem to suck pretty bad, however. Wynalda(sp?) and Lalas remind me of Eric Dickerson and Marcus Allen.

i thought balboa was ok in the games before the US/Italy game... where he just went off. he seemed to semi-know what he was talking about...although his constant preaching about the US and how good they were was rather annoying

He only retired recently. It will take awhile for for former US players to criticise a US team in international play. You won't see the criticism that Ian Wright and Alan Shearer are giving england for a while. In many ways, its still us against them and its not really the US way to focus on the negative

I can look past a lot of bad announcing crap, but what really kills me is when some underdog scores 10 minutes in, and they start on the persistent "An upset in the making!" crap when there's more than an hour left to play.

Univision does the world cup right. I dont normally watch the channel, but damn their coverage of the world cup has been badass.
