Default Rare river action on top two.......

Villain is 45/10 and passive stats on aggression... not many hands on him--- about 40. Our only other battle came when I had rockets and flopped a set, and he flopped a set of sixes. There was also a two flush on the flop that completed on river. He waited to cr river, but I didnt threebet b/c of the flush completing and his passivity. Nonetheless, it indicated to me that he was pretty passive, potentially liked to wait on river when he shouldnt, and his cr was with a strong hand that time.

On to this hand........

I don't know what you had, I'm guessing AT. I don't think I'd 3 bet the river.

Edit: Well I see you edited you had AK, that was my second choice. I still think there's not much value in a river 3 bet.

It was an easier fold, playing 5/10. I judged that 11.5/1 were not good enough odds that I had the best hand here. I assume you are saying the opposite.

I don't like the river fold, but I don't like laying 1:2 either.

Yep. I'm not sure if you're even a favorite once he raises. Giving him QJ/66 and AT/KT/A6 you're a slight dog.

Edit: I guess sometimes he'll have something like AJ the first time he raises, I still don't think that's enough reason to 3 bet, though.

You might be right. I'm just going to be the guy that I usually ridicule and speak in general terms: I never 3bet/fold unless I'm on a bluff. It's not as if not doing this enough is going effect your winrate or be a leak in anyone's game. The game is complex enough and I already make enough big laydowns vs. river checkraises.

Don't fold, no way. I like the 3-bet though but it is close. Put it this way, if somehow he put in three bets, I wouldn't cap.
