Does anyone know a casino(s) in Southern California that offers $1/$2 limit hold'em? Thanks in advance.

Re: microlimits in Southern CA?
Thanks. I only have the bankroll for $1/$2, so I've been playing online. It will be nice to get out from behind the computer.

Re: microlimits in Southern CA?
Like others have said, Commerce, The Bike and Oceans 11 all have $1/$2.
At Commerce, go up the large staircase in the center of the casino to find $1/$2 and $2/$4 and $40NL. The small stakes games were moved from the bottom floor to the ballroom during the last WPT event. I'm not sure why. Commerce comps you a decent dinner. Last time I was there on a Friday, Commerce had 3 tables going and had to open a fourth. However, there were twice as many $2/$4 tables going. Unlike the tables on the ground floor, the tables in the ballroom don't have the autoshufflers. Be happy if you play more than 25 hands an hour. Bring your TAG game, watch what people cold-call and showdown with - you will be amazed, roll your eyes when people keep switching tables or when they buy in for $10, push (raise) your equity when appropriate - don't worry, you won't chase them out because they'll still call you, suited connectors and flopped sets are your friends, people will cold call with A-rag and call to the river hoping to catch that Ace (sometimes they will catch it), and remember to enjoy the poker room experience. There's nothing like the sound and feel of poker chips. |

Re: microlimits in Southern CA?
I absoluely, positively hate those micro games. Way too much variance with too many -20bb stacks. No room to manuever at all. NL shouldn't be played that way. I'd rather play online if lack of money is a large concern until I had a large enough roll. But hopefully you'll do good. Good luck!

Re: microlimits in Southern CA?
TAG = Tight Aggresive. Also try not to get too annoyed with
people yelling "SETUP" every ten minutes and constantly switching chairs to get a "lucky" seat. |
