Default BB trash flops hard...River play

Limit .50/1 10 handed
Vilain has been quiet so far...3 orbits

Hero has Qh6c
PRE-FLOP
5 folds, CO calls, Vilain calls, SB calls, Hero checks

FLOP [board cards 10D,QD,QS ]
SB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, vilain raises, SB folds, Hero calls.

TURN [board cards 10D,QD,QS,5D ]
Hero checks, Vilain bets, Hero raises, Vilain calls

RIVER [board cards 10D,QD,QS,5D,9D ]
Hero checks, vilain checks.

Is river a c/c or b/f situation?

Any other comment appreciated.

I prefer check/call on the river as opposed to bet/fold.

I dont think that you will be called by a worse hand very often.

b/f. It's a Clarkmeister!

Also, i realize you are formatting your hands manually, but they would be easier to read if you use the suit images ([img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], etc.).

Thanks for the link to the Clarkmeister thread !

I just find it difficult to envisage a pocket pair (or other pair) calling a river bet on this board.

Fantam,

A worse hand may not be calling, but by checking, we allow Villain to bet his decent hands (a crappy [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]) but check behind with his worse hands (a PP or whatever). Plus, b/f invests the same as c/c.

Basically, it should all be in that thread (though i haven't read it for a while), but Clarkmeistering = da bomb.

I'd like to talk a bit about the turn...what, exactly, were you trying to accomplish?

The river, as I'm sure everyone's already said, is a classic Clarkmeister situation, and you should bet/fold.

He had taken the initiative on the flop. I suspect he was either on a flush draw, or that he had a T. If he had a Q, I thought he would have waited for the turn to raise. I was pretty assure that he would bet the turn if I checked to him. If I am 3bet on the turn, I know I have to improve on the river.

As a matter of fact, vilain had T9hh

Any sense in that?

The flop line and turn line don't go well together.

If I 3bet the flop, or check raise the flop, , I lose half a bet. Opponent will dig in his shell and call down or fold hands I beat.
