Default ($5.5) AK facing all in with nice pot

I am the dealer and big blind is 40, this is the first hand in the SnG. One person in middle position raises to 200 and the person behind him calls, and I pick up AKo and call too. Then the big blind goes all in for 1500, and the original raiser and the other caller both folds. The pot now contains about 2100, and it costs me 1300 to call with AK. Should I call?

I think a case could be made for raising all-in on the BTN there. You have someone betting 5x BB, seemingly not wanting others in the pot and someone calling (loose?), and you probably don't have much more than 1200 chips here. Any sizeable re-raise you do here would commit you on the flop.

Or you could just call with your great position, as you did.

After the BB goes all-in, I let this one go. You havent invested that much, and BB figures he has to be called by someone. I think you're likely flipping versus TT+ here.

I fold after the all-in. I would've pushed, though, following the 5x bet and call....you're only in horrible shape against exactly AA and KK (and I don't think that's what's here) and you want to see your AK all the way to the river. If you get called, you're probably in a flip, and if they fold you pick up a nice first pot.

As you said, I'm very likely facing TT-QQ here. So you're not willing to take a conflip even though the pot-odds are very favorable?

Please note, though, that you very likely have at least one A dead, and maybe a K, too. You're 6 outs could be 4.

I never thought about the dead outs before, that was a really good point. Maybe I fold this one next time, or perhaps shove it and let the others be in my spot!
