I am curious about my turn bet, as this seems like a fairly common situation. I am probably way ahead (if he was drawing) or way behind (if he had Aces up). In that case, checking behind (with the intent of calling any river bet) seems like the best play. Thoughts?

P.S. Does anyone continue after the c/r? Villain was not maniacal, and I didn't think he would make this play without a boat. Given that I can only beat eights full, it seems like an easy fold.

I think your play was fine. You don't want the nut flush draw drawing out to a bigger boat if he isn't full yet for free. I doubt he is bluffing at this level.

Joshua,

What are the stack sizes?

I prolly, raise this up PF 4 handed more often then not fwiw, but I'm sure that doesn't really help you any.

Looks fine to me then. There are definetly people I bet the turn and fold because they are likely to peel one off with 1 to come but aren't very aggressive to bluff or bet riv with just AAA. So I bet fold to these guys on the turn.

If they are more agg and will bet the river a lot then I might check and call anything on the river.

If they are really tight and kinda weak I might also check the turn and then bet the riv if they check it. They can be tempted after weakness on the turn but would never call the turn.

Those are prolly the two most common spots but there are definetly a small number of over agrro people I have played in the past that I am betting and calling (or pushing) against that raise.

Edit; added weak tiight scenario
