AA in SB, flop play
Villain is a big winner on this level. He is capable of con-betting both flop and turn with air. I have called him down with AA in the BB a couple of days earlier knowing this. I have also seen him call big preflop raises with SD in position if the pot is at least three-handed. If he doesn't have a draw he plays pretty much a raise/fold game. (I believe he can raise draws too of course.) His numbers: 16/8/2.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) Hero ($312.02) BB ($195) UTG ($140.91) UTG+1 ($283.64) MP1 ($258.46) MP2 ($279.75) CO ($101.45) Button ($450.55) Preflop: Hero is SB with A, A. Hero posts a blind of $1. UTG calls $2, UTG+1 calls $2, 3 folds</font>, Button calls $2, Hero (poster) raises to $11</font>, 1 fold</font>, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $10, Button calls $10. Flop: ($40) 2, 2, J 3 players)</font> Hero bets $25</font>, UTG+1 folds, Button raises to $50</font>. What to do now? |

Re: AA in SB, flop play
With three limpers to me and OOP I would have raised more PF, maybe 15-20. Only hands that beat you are one with a 2 or JJ. I cant see a solid player limping from EP with either of those hands. I think he has medium pockets ot AJ. I would make it $150 and push any turn card.

Re: AA in SB, flop play
Gutter's post said exactly what mine said so I removed it.
The only difference was that where he said "make it $150", I said "Shove it allin!" I like his line better. |

I try to keep in mind that AA still dominates any two hands. And even if the EPs folds, B might feel he is priced in for 10 in a 20-pot. [ QUOTE ] Only hands that beat you are one with a 2 or JJ. Re: AA in SB, flop play
OK. Here is the rest:
Hero calls $25. Turn: ($140) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $45</font>, Hero calls $45. River: ($230) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $100</font>, Hero calls $100. Button shows [ 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ] a full house, Twos full of threes. Hero doesn't show [ A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ] two pairs, aces and twos. Final Pot: $430 Now, should I be... a) happy because I didn't lose that last $100? b) disappointed at myself because I should have understood that villain's hand contained a deuce after the way he played it? (He is, IMO, too good to be overplaying AJ like this.) c) thinking that it would be too weak/tight to fold it? |

Re: AA in SB, flop play
i would have raised more preflop, after that turn raise im calling, not because im scared but because i would be looking to get more out of him. im not afraid of him drawing out on me because he has at most 2 outs if he doesnt have a 2x or jj hand. im check raising turn because he is definitly betting after raising flop. even tho he had the 2 this hand id still play it exactly the same way every time.
