Hand 1

fold preflop.

But as you played it, it looked like your raise on the flop did it's job. He instantly stopped playing. The turn check is good. I would most likely bet the river for value here. A river check isn't bad either because you're out of position.

All-in-all, fold preflop.

Hand 2

fold preflop.

We don't like playing against a bigger stack's raise unless we have a big monster hand.

I'd fold both of these preflop.

Also, in hand 2, you are OOP and that is a rotten place to be calling a big preflop raise with AQo.

I don't mind the call PF in hand 1, but I like those high suited connectors hoping to connect on a flop. I'd bet on the river, but checking isn't bad.

Hand 2 - Push or fold preflop. You're calling over 25% of your chips off hoping to hit the 15%. If you push you have FE, especially if the villain has been stealing a lot, but if he's been playing tight I swear at my screen and hit the fold button.

I like to bet pot (especially a small pot) when I hit anything on the flop from the BB.

UTGs call of the turn bet is worrysome, tho.

One weak point in my game is knowing when to push in a situation like this.

Check push turn? Push river? Make a bet that you think they will call?

AceLuby, since he raised pf, I was giving him credit for an overpair, until he made the weak bet which lead me to semi-bluff. When he called, I figured him for a bigger 9, until his weak-tight as showed down JJ.

On 3, my plan was to give him about 3 to 1 to chase the 4 to 1 flush on the river.

What hands would he be playing this way that would be chasing a flush now? I mean he could have a diamond in his hand, but he's come this far with something else, in my opinion.
