Default Help me buy a TV and suround sound for my bedroom

I just moved into a new apartment and I am upgrading my room. I have a rather large bedroom at 21' x 11'. I think I am leaning towards a 42'' plasma, but not sure what to buy. I also need surround sound as well as a DVD player and perhaps a TV type stand to hold all the components. My limit for this purchase would be around 4K for everything.

Here is my room

ONe thing missing is the bathroom door which is next to the closet.

I dont think I want to wallmount the TV. I dont know how long I will live here. Although it is tempting. I could also put my TV on the dresser and have something next to it for recievers and cable boxes and Xbox360 and such.

A few things to look at when it comes to home audio

If you go component, Yamaha amps are the best bang for the buck when it comes to sub $500 recievers. As far as speakers go Polk, Klipsch, Paradigm are all good. Infinity is also good but don't lose your receipt as their customer service blows. Stay away from Bose as it's crap.

Sony has some good subwoofers for around $300. Other than that Sony really isn't worth looking at IMO unless you go rather high end.
