Default Bill James Historical Abstract

I just bought it. Any chapters which people would recommend as must reads?

The biography of Ernie Lombardi is great.

Good call on the Schnozz. I'm a big fan of the Biggio vs Griffey comparison

I thought you meant Lombardi for a moment. You're going to be looking at Biggio in a whole new light.

The sections about relief pitching where he explains the "proper" role of a relief ace, and not a closer brought in for a save is my favorite. Also there's a very interesting section about "Tom Brunansky" players, specifically players who come up in the majors with the skills of veterans and how they never have long careers.

Just read the whole thing, it's all very good. I tend to skip around in that book after 20x times, just like a poker book, because most of the sections are bite-sized pieces that you can easily digest.
