Can any of the mounting evidence actually be true that we are not alone?

Does the recent propensity of SciFi material reflect an increased likelyhood of a big reveal by the govt.(s) soon that we've been visited for years already an "acclimatisation program" if you like. Or is it simply a reflection that more people enjoy science fiction?
