Default + EV - suckouts - bad luck - precise poker

I feel I have played very good poker for my first 20000 hands. I'm up around $20, 19,11,3. I don't cold-call raises, limp in early position and go too far with AK AQs ets. I play my pot odds orrectly and protect my hand when I have something. Where can I turn this time consuming hobby around? I know about bad beats, variance and suck outs but the whole things pretty pointless and futile right now. Please don't give me the standard 'please post some hands". Shillix etc, comments would be appreciated. Thanks

You must have some leaks somewhere. I've been there. As time passed I slowly plugged a few leaks I didn't know I had and started getting better results. If you find posting hands cumbersome, you should at least read through the discussions. Sometimes they set off a light switch.

Maybe you play weak-tight postflop? Folding too much postflop is definitely a common leak, believe it or not. POST SOME HANDS.

I honestly think i have a tight game. I know my ssh from my HPAP. I'm really doubting the fact you can beat this game though. I read Q-Tip's post about having a 100000 break-even stretch. Perhaps I'm having one of those dead card, 2nd best hand bad beat stretches. I've lurked here for ages and played a lot of cards. I see no significant leaks. Besides Q-Tip and other serious posters'; have you experienced this?

The players are so bad in micros that the big swings are less likely (I'm not saying they can't happen). Have you got pokertracker? Do you know what hands you're losing money on?

ive got poker tracker and im getting a lot less aa, kk, QQ, jj compared to 54os. I know thats part and parcel. AKs,AK, AQs and AQ have been marginal. If I don't hit and there is some significant action, three or four handed , I'll drop it, If I have something, I'll protect it. I'm playing party exclusively. Can you see anything there?

That's because you're less likely to get a pocket pair than two cards of differing rank.

This is funny. You know enough to know that you're going to be told to post hands, but ask us not to say that anyway. Hell, you didn't even tell us what stakes you're playing...at .01/.02 you're doing pretty well, 5BB/100.

0.5-1 party. I respect your post's Bozlax and I'll post some of my marginal hands. this whole 20000 hand break-even thing is cumbersome though. What is your biggest downswing or break-even stretch?

*snore* If this is your first 20K hands, be happy playing break-even. Most players are just getting back to break even after about 10-15K, so the fact that you're a little positive is a good sign. My downswings, to the extent I want them to be, are a matter of public forum record, and I'm not going to bother to go through them again, just suffice to say that I, like everyone else, have had some.

As for posting hands, don't. I mean, don't post hands you think are "marginal." If you feel that your game is in such trouble, then you couldn't find marginal in a bathtub if you were allowed to use both hands. Instead, post hands you think you clearly played well, or clearly played badly, and let us critique THOSE. Only a small percentage of your winrate is attributable to marginal situations...clean up the ABC stuff, first.

Oh, and respond in other people's threads. It's much more edumakashunal.
