WPX tables unnaturaly tight all of a sudden
Is it just me, or have the WPX tables suddenly gotten WAYYYYY tighter? I don't understand why they are so tight at 7 PM on a Friday...
I'm playing 2/4 and there's only ever maybe 2-3 people in a pot if anyone decides to play. Full ring is what i'm talking about, as there is no SH poker at the 2/4 limits. I'm considering dropping back down to 1/2 SH and attempting to make enough money there to skip 2/4 alltogether and hit the 3/6 SH tables... What do you guys think? Or are all the limits suddenly REALLY tight? I've only really focused on learning to beat extremely loose games and did well for myself at party, but here it's just [censored] ridiculous. If anyone has any good tips on beating these kinds of games i'd love to hear them, or know of any good reading material i'd love to have it. I've pretty much been living by Izmet Fekali's "playing with the fish" for the past year or so, but now those same concepts don't apply as much :| |

Also they really suck at advertising considering the god damn casino doesn't have at least 2,000 at a time yet. By now, it definitley should have that many. ;\

2/4 has been that way for a while now...
But the games are definately still beatable as very few players seem to have a good grasp of postflop play. |

I've considered loosening up a whole lot, to the point of extreme LAG and just relying heavilly on postflop skill. But something tells me i'll completely ruin myself...

Re: WPX tables unnaturaly tight all of a sudden
At 2/4 most of the tight players (at all sites) are folding too much, so play aggressive, but DON'T spew. Spewing is i.e. bluffing again after somebody calls you on ace-high or otherwise scary board. They can be made to fold marginal hands etc., but if they show strength by betting or raising or calling on scary boards they will often go to showdown. In other words, you can convince them you have top pair when they don't, but you can't convince them you have set or 2 pair or flush when they have top pair.

ITS POKER!!! GET OVER IT! Move somewhere else, lol. WPEX tables seem exactly like Absolute because everyone is getting 100% rakeback.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually those kind of game conditions can be very profitable on lower limits (on higher limits they put up much more resistance, so there it isn't so profitable). I crushed the Absolute low limit games by being a LAG, with bonus I made more cash than most of the good Party-players (on the same limit). I haven't tried out the low limit games at WPEX though, so I can't tell if that is true there too. |

Re: WPX tables unnaturaly tight all of a sudden
I had my first 400bb downswing here at WPX... and guess what? It's still growing. I never had anything worse than 250bbs down at party. :\
I simply haven't had an upswing since I got to WPX. Running terrible. |
