Illegal Club Stuff
Not sure where the line should be on this one. I'm sure B&M guys have a fairly solid policy, so wanted to touch base.
Do we need to be facilitating "legal advice" on what an illegal club operator should do? Thread |

Re: Illegal Club Stuff
I say it's to be treated as bt/file sharing posts. Not that one has anything to do with the other. Only that it should be treated in a similar fashion.
i.e. post deleted and member notified (strike 1) |

Thread [/ QUOTE ] B&M policy is if the owner of the club wishes to discuss his card room, them we let him - but we stop everyone else from disclosing information to protect the players, employees and owners. But first we verify who the owner is. I knew all the card room owners except two before I moved, I have no clue who that guy is so we would have to verify who it is first; its weird that a NYC operator doesn't know the laws (all those guys have lawyers who advise in advance). We have done this in the past with card rooms in Delaware, Phoenix and Texas so far - each time the poster was legitimately representing the card rooms management. |

In NYC where his cardroom resides the police ignore the game until someone complains, or they are looking for a kickback (it doesnt happen often, but there is history of this happening). One card room has been in business for nearly 50 years (The name is a lunch meat), and in all that time there were only two robberies (both happened in the past two years unfortunatly). In short, I see nothing wrong with that thread as long as its the legitimate card room owner. |

Re: Illegal Club Stuff
How exactly does one find out if he's a legit owner/operator?

What forum did that thread come from anyway?
NT - have you seen the NYC Limit King thread in B&M? You know who it is... |

How exactly does one find out if he's a legit owner/operator? [/ QUOTE ] I would say there are very few clubs out there that between myself and *TT* that we don't at least know somebody that would know the owner so we can verify. Until recently the B&M community was pretty small. Just as an example in 2001 when the room I was working in Vegas was closing I went online and found the name of someone to call at the Bike. I called him, introduced myself, he had heard of me and offered me a job on the spot over the phone. |

Came from the legislation forum, I assume since he was looking for legal advice.
