Re: Wind Turbines (Renewable Energy)
Not familiar with wind except what is brought on by Taco Bell. I do remember a recent article in the LA Times talking about the proliferation of solar, esp. in big houses or ones with a pool. It also went into the details of the rebates CA had available. If you can get access to their archives you might be able to find it.
There's more info here: http://www.energy.ca.gov/renewables/ |

Re: Wind Turbines (Renewable Energy)
From what I've heard, as long as you live where you get average winds of about 8mph or more, the turbine will pay for itself in no time. They are supposed to be great investments if you live in a windy area, and don't mind eyesores.

Re: Wind Turbines (Renewable Energy)
Check the IOWA FARMLAND thread...........Iowa is the 3rd leading state of wind energy in the country and growing rapidly.
Ethanol and wind energy are two big reasons for the surge in land prices there. Wind is a great resource and the future is bright for its use for energy. |
