Adsense not displaying properly (w/pics)
Ok, I think I understand that when there is no ad to display, adsense defaults to "public service" ads.
This started happening frequently when I changed the ad at the top of my blog from text to image. However, lately it seems like it's been happening all the time. And when the top ad goes to public service, my other text ads break too, leaving a blank space on the page. What gives? Generic ad at top of blog: Missing ad block in right hand column Missing ad unit below the fold |

Re: Adsense not displaying properly (w/pics)
Im guessing that you do not have enough content on the page for google to pick up on. You should probably add some more text and that should fix the problem. This happens to some of my real estate sites that do not have a lot of text.

Could one or two posts without much text (there are two currently, out of 15 or so total) be screwing it up for the rest of them? |

I believe that the content directly below the ads holds the most weight. Can you post a link so I can look at whats going on exactly?

Re: Adsense not displaying properly (w/pics)
Also, AdSense only displays about 2 units of the same type per page I believe. Their FAQ should say the exact numbers. Even still, I'm assuming the ad unit type is different on the sidebar, meaning it should display if it can find relevant content. It may be what majesty suggested in this case.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, the side unit is different. And the ad above the fold SHOULD be different than the one below the fold. When I first changed the top ad to image, it worked perfectly, and I got both that ad, and text ads below. So, basically, it has worked before, but lately it seems like it's always generic and broken. |

Re: Adsense not displaying properly (w/pics)
This has got me stumped a little bit. You have plenty of content. Im gunna have to think about this a little. I can only think of two things.
1) Google isnt comeing up with a basic subject matter for the site. 2) There is some objectional content on there. I havent had time to actualy read threw all the posts. Ill look into this some more and try to get a better answer for you. |

Try emailing the AdSense team if you can't figure out. They should get back to you within about 48 hours.

Re: Adsense not displaying properly (w/pics)
Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate the effort. I think it is kind of hard to come up with a "category" for the site, but we had a decent variety of ads before, so it's weird that it would stop working all of a sudden. |
