Default ($60) JJ in BB - Jam or Stop n\' Go?

Trying to shake the rust off after a long layoff.

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t2225)
CO (t1790)
Button (t5020)
SB (t1975)
Hero (t2490)

Preflop: Hero is in BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">CO folds</font>, <font color="red">Button raises to t600</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero???</font>

Jam, call then push on flop, or other???

If the answer is Stop n' Go, do I still push with an Ace on the flop? A King? A Queen?

BTW, if I had AK instead of JJ, is any play other than jamming correct?

I would push. He has a wide raising range and you have some fold equity. If you push and get called you are likely way ahead.

I'd stop and go 8's or worse.

jamming is fine...

stop and go is a move when you want a fold. any hand where youre holding JJ PF and have a decision to make is typically not thinking from the "bluff" standpoint, I would think it would be almost always for value.

Anything but shoving is a huge leak.

I am not thinking of a bluff...more like getting AK to fold on the flop with no Ace or King.

Really? Jamming is always better than calling and pushing any flop?
Maybe you put him on a larger range than I do. I am not doubting you, but only trying to understand. I figure I am a 60/40 fav against his hand range.

BTW, you know this went to a showdown. I will post the results as soon as I feel confident I know what to do in the future.

Your hand has too much value to SnG here. You are giving hands like 99 a chance to fold.
Also I would certainly c/c or c/f certain flops if I misclikced call.

Thanks. I would think a SnG would give a chance for AK and AQ to fold on the flop...where as a jam would have them call. Anyhow, here is how it went down.

Based on everyone's feedback, I will continue to shove JJ.

I prefer to push preflop with both JJ and AK in that spot. The stacks are a little awkward for a stop-n-go: pushing 1800 into 1200. There's plenty of folding equity preflop against hands like KQ, AT, and 66, which are the kind of things that you try to fold out post-flop on a stop-n-go in a situation where they don't often fold preflop. If your stack is 600 shorter, a stop-n-go starts looking better.

EDIT: So much for the idea that AT folds preflop. Oh well, no sense in seeing that flop and folding when he has KQ.
