buying stuff to knowingly return in a few days
I have a sony ux laptop and I went to the stony style store and purchased the GPS receiver for my trip to Atlantic City/New York this weekend.
I have no plans on keeping the receiver and will be returning it monday. My question is this common? I know girls do this type of thing with dresses but what else is it done with? Note: There is a 15% restocking fee which comes to $20, which if igure is worth it for GPS for the weekend, since I never drove around that area before. But I opened the box in such a way that I'm pretty sure they won't even know I opened it. |

My question is this common? [/ QUOTE ] There's a reason that Best Buy charges a restocking fee on video cameras, digital cameras, and laptops--to lower the number of people doing exactly what you propose to do. E.g., I just bought several pairs of headphones knowing that I was only going to keep the one I liked the best. I've also done this with various other products, including CD players, boom boxes, DVD players, camera flashes, camera lenses, even cuff-links. |

My friends and I have done this several times with board games. Its awesome when walmart takes back a game with bent cards and borken pieces.
