Default Can I fold two pair heads-up?

This hand is from long ago, but it was interesting to me at the time.

20-40 live:

Folded around to CO who open-raises. CO will steal-raise here as per normal 20-40 players. But otherwise plays fairly careful/passive. Folded to me in BB, I look down at A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and 3-bet. CO 4-bets. This means he has a real hand. Strong pocket pair, or A-good kicker. I call.

Flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I check, he bets, I call.

Turn is Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I check, he bets. He definitely has a strong hand here, he's not betting with 99. I go over the possibilities in my head -- all of them look pretty grim.

AA - 4 outs to tie (JJJJ) = 2 outs
AK - 4 outs to tie (JJJJ), 2 to win (QQ) = 4 outs
KK/QQ - 2 outs (AA), 4 outs to tie (JJJJ) = 4 outs
JJ - 4 outs (AAQQ), 2 outs to tie = 5 outs
AJ - 4 outs (AAQQ), 3 outs to tie = 5.5 outs
TT - 4 outs, 4 outs to tie = 6 outs.
AQ - we tie.

There's 6.25 BB in the pot, so I need about 7:1 to call. At best, I have a 6 outer if he has TT, but I think on average I have about 3-5 outs. In some cases it's worse than this if he has a flush draw (royal flush, actually) too. Obviously, if he has a set he doesn't have a flush draw, but I have to discount for this.

I fold. After I fold, he says the turn helped him.

Id probably call the turn and then c/f river. 4 outs to fill up, 4 outs to chop, and a small chance of having the best hand.

the fold is perfect for the reasons you evaluated. you are never ahead here unless he was throwing in a random 4-bet PF without one of the hands you listed.

if anyone recalls a post in MHSH regarding a poster (possibly kurosh) vs. heisenb3rg plz where he folds a similar hand, please provide the link. in the post, OP feels that both he and heisenberg had been playing very well up to that point.

Oops, lagerborg, not 2p2 poster heisenberg. The hands played very differently but involve the same kinds of cards.

I dont think you can fold this heads up. You are chopping or have the best hand more than 7 to 1 imo.
