Tournament razz vs ring game razz

I can consistently beat up Razz tournaments and sit and go's in the $10-20 range. It is my best profit game. However, I cannot beat $1/2 and $2/4 cashgame. I am a slight loser in the ring games.

My style is very straightforward tight/aggressive. I don't get too tricky unless it's shorthanded.

I do not understand why my tournament playing style is not successful in cash. I feel like I don't get paid off as often in cashgame. Maybe it has something to do with short stacks in tournaments.

What do you guys think?

Tourneys tend to have worse players as the cost of playing bad in a tourney is much less than in cash games.
