Default Application of Clarkmeister Theorum?

Slightly tight 4/8 live game with moderate aggression.
Hero open raises A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from HJ, Villain 3-bets OTB, folded to Hero who calls.

Flop comes 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Check, check.

Turn comes 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Check, check.

River comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero bets.

as an aside, i honestly dont know how applicable this theorem is to online games these days.

it seems that everyone uses it, and as a result, river bluff raises are becoming more and more frequent.

i still think it holds true for live games.

When I've tried this I get burned about 90% of the time. I play live though.

Damnit! I was pretty drunk when I posted this and I agonized over the spelling for the better part of a minute. I don't know why I didn't just Google it...

Yes, and why not. You only have to win here less than 25% of the time for this to be ok, and on this action, that is going to happen.
