Default KK on the Big Blind

Did I play this hand right?

CDpoker
Limit Holdem Ring game $1.00/$2.00
10 players
table averages: vpip 30%, PFR 12%

MP1 29/13.5/1.48 TH25
CO 64/7.0/0.3 TH14
Button 48/5.0/0.4 TH80
SB 50/0.0/0.12 TH22

Preflop10 players) Hero is bb with K :club:K :spade:
3 folds, MP1 calls, CO calls, button calls, SB calls, Hero(BB) raises , MP1 calls, button calls, Sb calls. (10Sb, 5 players.

Flop: J:diamond: 7:spade: A:heart:

SB checks, Hero checks , MP1 checks, CO checks, Button checks

I tried to check-raise to protect my hand in this big pot

Turn: Q:club:

SB checks, Hero bets , MP1 calls, CO calls, button calls, SB folds (9BB, 4 players)

River: 6:diamond:

Hero checks , MP1 checks, CO checks, Button checks(9BB, 4 players)

Betting for value was better maybe

The hand converter didn't work so I typed it by hand. I didn't get the colors to work but I think it's still readable.

Should I have bet on the flop with these loose players, or was my check-raise attempt right?

ps. If this is a stupid post, don't shoot me.

I would have bet the flop and continued to lead until raised. Then adjust depending on who raised, when, and my reads.

Welcome to the forum. You can make your posts more reader friendly by converting your hands with a hand converter software. I don't know how to post a link to it but you can find it in the FAQ, I think, or in previous threads.

Just bet the flop, and as played bet the river.

Thanks for the advice and the welcoming,

I tried to convert it by two different hand converters(FTR and NeildeWhurst) but they don't convert histories from the Ipoker network.

Did you try the 'legoconverter'? Don't know the link, but I've had some problem with the Neilconverter myself. Lego worked fine.

I don't understand why you hope one of the passive players will bet. In fact, if one bets he likely has the A. Just bet out. And hope you get a few folds (in particular from MP1, the other 3 might call along with just about anything).

As played, river is a clear value bet.

Edited to add: What a great table.

Bet the flop. Don't check raise the flop when there is no aggressor unless you have a read. This would be a bad flop to check-raise on though. You don't even know what your relative position will be to any raiser. If MP1 bets and they all call are you protecting anything? Represent the A and hope they fold. If I get more than one caller on that flop I would probably play defensively after that. As played there isn't much to say. These guys are all so passive that it's difficult to say where you are. The river could be a thin value bet since you have underrepresented your hand.

I see now I made the decision without realising how passive the players in the hand were and my relative position. I should be looking at the stats more. Thanks.

At Neku, Thanks, I'll check it out.

Welcome to the forums. Bet the flop.

It would be good for you to remove the phrase "protect [your] hand" from your vocabulary for a while. Instead, replace it with the phrase "value bet." You will do well if you make that transition.
