Winning to easily
I've just started playing No-Limit poker. I used to just play sit-n-go's but recently started playing some 1-2 6handed NL at ultimatebet. I have maybe 15 hours of poker in after about 3 weeks (i dont get to play much cause im kinda busy) I started with $200 (not a good size roll for 1-2nl.lol) but now im up $3000 and im waiting to lose. It can't be this easy can it? I am seriously quitting my job right away and going back to school and im thinking i can pay for it with poker. I have been playing poker for around 10 years but never NL. Is it really this easy? I know I need a bigger sample size, and I should be using pokertracker or some special stuff you pro's use, but am I just kidding myself? The players at 1-2NL seem so easy to beat. I dont dare move up in limits and im very happy with the profit margin im working at but im thinking that a stretch of bad beats is bound to happen. I guess im bragging about my good fortune so far but im also asking, is it possible for me to be good enough to beat this regularily, right out of tha gate?

"I know I need a bigger sample size"
No you dont need a bigger sample size, 15 hours is enough for sure. And why go back to school? Dont waste valuable poker hours in school. |

Re: Winning to easily
Please post some hand histories here where you show your skills so we can evaluate them properly.
And yes, NL200 is easy, 15 hours of practice is more than enough to start really crushing. Just don't expect to crush NL2000 yet; you'd barely be breakeven. You need to play lots lots more... like have around 40 or 50 hours of experience before you can start to dominate that game. P.S. Come to think of it, when I first came to 6max a month ago (NL200 by coincidence) I also made about as much as you did in the first 15 hours of play. So it is utterly standard. |
