Re: Small Blind hands
there are two big questions here:
1) what hands to open raise in the SB when it is folded around to you. AND 2) what hands to complete when the pot has a few limpers and you are in the small blind. I think your best bet to get the first question answered is pick up the stox Winning in Tough Hold'em Games book. He addresses blind vs. blind concepts. as for the second question about completing when there are limpers. It really is just a matter of how many limpers are in the pot. Here are my thoughts as to the bottom of my range based on the number of limpers. Getting 11-1 (4 limpers) I complete with any two cards. Getting 9-1 (3 limpers) I usually complete with any A or K and any hand that can make a straight, although arguable you can play just about any two cards. Getting 7-1 (2 limpers) you can complete most all two gappers, and some low one gappers. Getting 5-1 (1 limper) you can complete with any suited hand. note that was the bottom of the range, and all better hands are obvious completes or raises depending on their strength. Also note that if the limpers play absolutely horrible postflop you can profitably complete when you are getting 7-1 plus with just about any two cards (assuming that you play well postflop and don't spew). hope that helps. |

Yeah, thanks a lot, I've been thinking about that as well.
