6 handed
You are the first person to act (to the left of big blind) with ace nine suited... How often do you raise/call/fold? Assume this is your typical table with people who might reraise preflop sometimes and those who like to call or fold. |

something like 95% raise, 5% fold.

I gotta disagree with Hatti
UTG A9s is sorta junky especially if you're 3-bet and/or if an A falls on the flop. You're either way ahead in which case you don't get paid off too often or you're way behind and unless you've got good discipline to regularly fold A9s having made top pair, well, it's junk. I just think that if you're forced to make a decision, OOP, with A9, you shouldn't have put yourself in that position in the first place. It's not in my range for UTG unless specific situations, image etc suggest otherwise. Plug that leak you silly goose! |

Moreover, I'd rather raise with A2s or A5s UTG cause it's easier to get away from if an A falls and/or 3-bet PF. And, of course you've got the benefit of 2 potential draws coming your way.
Having said that, I still think anything worse than AJo is junky UTG when talking specifically about Ax hands. |

I should have made it more clear that if you've (made the mistake) of commiting yourself PF with A9s, if an A falls on the flop, then it becomes more problematic for a lot of players to get away from. "Oh, well I've already put this much in, I may aswell try and get lucky and look this guy up" having faced a flop raise etc. If you can't fold A9s PF to a CO/BTN raise, ----> $1/2NL |

this table description is a bit vague imo. however depending on my image i would probs fold 70% and raise 30% also very dependent on sizes of various stacks... i'm not a big fan of playing these sorts of hands oop, very often u will get a mp player calling with something like AQ\AJ and your pretty much dominated. A9 utg has got to be -ev in most games imo
