Default borgata news: amphora(sp?) lounge and other related tidbits

i heard today that the new black card lounge has opened where the old poker room once was.
because this lounge is open now, the regular buffet will revert to regular price for black cards(whatever that was $29?), and the regular buffet wont offer free drinks to black card members.
also, the B bar on the casino floor will no longer offer free drinks to black cards.
as mentioned, the new lounge is downstairs where the old poker room was.
the high limit room is now where the food is. one of the hosts told me they will have two carving stations each day with a menu that changes each day. she mentioned something else about soups and sandwhiches or whatever as well.
today they had a ham, and hot dogs, those big pretzels that i love, and like 10 different trays of food, roast beef, potatoes, vegetables, etc. she also said that the sunday menu was as such due to football (the hot dogs, pretzels etc)
where the main floor was is now the eating area.
where the racebook was is now filled with 18 leather reclining chairs for your enjoyment, facing the giant screen . today was football on the main screen, and other games on the side screens.
where the old waiting areas was has been transformed into a fairly nice bar. 10-11 bar seats available and like 3-4 bar tables, and a couple couches.
overall i thought it was pretty nice.
one drawback, only 1 guest allowed per black card. she said the rules could be bent a little depending on how busy they were and how many comp dollars you have (they dont take cash, so you need to have enough comp dollars to get the number of guests in you want)
cost is 10 comp dollars per person.

side note: i think the borg has setup some satellite service for the TVs as i was able to watch the atl/pit game in the poker room. normally when the eagles are on, the local tv wont have any other games.

the new lounge is awesome, head and shoulders above the old one - no free drinks anymore at the b bar kind of sucks but we knew it wouldnt last forever - buffet was getting ridiculous with lines for black card so this opening comes at a good time

Yeah I was there friday, good food and atmosphere. The lounge is now so much better than the old one, finally.

One thing that hasn't grown on me since it opened: positioning of their TV's in the ceiling in the poker room.
