Need 3rd reference for grad school.
So I never really got to know many of my teachers in my 5 years of college and made slightly less than a 3.0. Sounds like I suck at life but I majored in chemical engineering and biochem. Id like to apply to phd school for pharmacology/toxicology, but my problem is I only have 2 solid references. How bad is it to just go to a previous teacher that wouldn't recognize me who I made a solid B+ in their class and ask for a reference?

Bad.
Ask someone from an internship, summer program, your advisor, a boss, anyone who knows you. |

yea its pretty bad- try and get one from someone that knows you well. If they require all of the LORs from teachers then get it from the one you dont know well but add in a rec from work or somewhere else.

If you have relevant work experience, I would definitely ask your boss for a reference. When I applied to grad school in political science, I got two recommendations from professors and one from my boss at the polling firm I used to work for. |
