Default small stupid hand v raptor

villian is raptor. a couple tables just broke up and we have only been playing HU for a shortwhile. he has limped a couple times but nothing really happened in those hands.

i had been playing really aggro this session, with not many hands getting shown down. i dont think i c/r here in a limped pot very often ever with a v strong hand, so i tried to make it look bluffy. i know he likes to make big calls when he thinks something looks suspicious so that was the goal. the one real draw got there on turn which is something to think about if i wanted to c/r bluff the river.

not sure exactly how he views me but im pretty sure he doesn't think im bad.

i dislike the entire line.

the flop you turn your hand into a bluff. i realize he can call you down with mid pair, but a) it's a limped pot and b) when he calls so much of his range is ahead that we have no idea where we are or what to do. so i hate the flop c/r.

once you do it though, which i do sometimes too... your turn bet is pure spew imo. as you said the only draw other than gutshots get there... so he'd have to give you c/r this flop with total air to continue with anything here other than a decent king. i'd probably check the turn or bet something small and stupid (if you bet 50 or 100 for instance, it looks stupid enough not to get bluffraised by 68 or a 7).

once he calls your turn bluff i don't see how you can call a value bet on the river, but hey if i were in that spot i probably would too getting 4:1

The river call is horrible imo. You are never good here as played. What are you putting him, the double float?

river call is bad but youre getting good odds and it kinda looks like he's trying to induce or will call a c/r, so he pretty much trapped you there.

the whole hand reeks of trying to do too much though

its a limped pot not the time to squeeze value out of TP5K, just hate how you played the whole hand

Wow I'm suprised at some of the responses here. I think your line is not bad at all. If youre not raising hands like this a good amount of the time, it wont allow you to bluff raise as much.

Youre losing on a lot of value and your metagame suffers.

I think there is merit in using this line a good 30% of the time.
If I could pick only one line though, the one you did may be it.

Are you implying that you have multiple lines for this type hand that you use say 20% for one....12% for another...30% for this one...5% for another. Or do you have just a couple more that you use say 40% and 30%...in which case I don't know why you'd use this particular line if you could pick only one when you normally use another 40%. Why not use this 40%?
