Brokeback Mountain: A Poker Novella was great too. It chronicles some of the great old time poker games starring Doyle, Amarillo Slim and all the toughest cowpokes from a bygone era.

I just finished Broke and also loved it. Unfortunately King of a Small World exhausts the list of good poker novels. The Cincinnati Kid and The Man with the Golden Arm are good novels, but unrealistic poker. There's lot of good poker nonfiction and short stories but poker players have short (but intense) attention spans and have to be objective, so it's hard to interest them in a long work of fiction like a novel. Most poker novels are written for nonplayers.

I'm writing a new one that is going to have a more developed plot. It's going to take a long time. I'm pretty happy with Broke, but I need to figure out how to get people to read it. --Brandon
