I check behind on river, there aren't many worse hands calling here, unless you have a read

Re: NL100 check behind on drawheavy board?
its definitely a check beihind on this board on river.. he is not calling if he has missed his draw on the river... you are only trying to get a call from a worse 10 and i doubt you are going to get called...

Re: NL100 check behind on drawheavy board?
pf is questionable.
You're in the hand against a station but you have a questionable holding. I usually advocate betting each street but by turn you have to ask yourself: villain has $25 left behind, there is $15 in the pot ->if i get all his money in how often am I ahead? If you had raised preflop and were heads up with a station I'd be fine with your line. However, because you were both preflop callers I'm more inclined to check behind on the turn. Its your read though did you think he was bad enough to call down with JT,99-22? I think i'd pussy out and check behind the turn and value bet the river. |

those advocating betting the turn and checking behind on the river; are you betting the turn strictly to protect against a back door flush and a turned straight draw?

Sure. He could have a Ten... and i guess he cant put me on the backdoordraw. [/ QUOTE ] He could have a dry ten, and he also could have a Q, KK, AK, KJ, AJ, J9, AA or TT, one of which is far more likely to call the river push. |

Re: NL100 check behind on drawheavy board?
I can't help it, KJ is the most probable hand that I see him having. It's the only draw that hit something where he can't be sure he's ahead and could check the river. J9 would make sense until the turn and he's not very aggresive so he could check the straight because of the paired board.
I don't see a hand worse than your's though that would call. Maybe if he is really a station, but I would need to have seen him call with third pair or something like that prior to this hand. So I check behind. |

I probably start checking down from the turn...pretty much nothing you beat will ever give you two streets of value
